Gilbert Billeaudeau

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Gilbert Ray Billeaudeau, age 67, will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church of Opelousas, La., followed by interment in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will be the celebrant of the mass.

Mr. Billeaudeau, a resident of Opelousas, La., passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011 at Opelousas General Health System.

Gilbert was a member of the Opelousas Jaycees and served his country in the United States Air Force. He also worked as a butcher at Meches Meat Market for many years. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Gilbert and Ernestine Billeaudeau of Opelousas, La. his brother, Donald Billeaudeau and wife, Sandy, of Sunset, La. his sisters, Judy Gary and husband, Harvey, of Broussard, La. Charline Thomas and husband, John, of Pine Prairie, La. and Jan Norris and husband, Mike, of Grand Prairie, La.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Billeaudeau.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
