Gerald Quebedeaux, Sr.

Krotz Springs-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mr. Gerald Anthony Quebedeaux, Sr., at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. Father Jason Vidrine will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs.

Mr. Gerald was known to many as "Gee." He was a native of Port Barre and a lifelong resident of Krotz Springs. He passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas at the age of 76. Mr. Gerald was a U. S. Army Veteran who served his country proudly overseas during the Vietnam War. He was a Track Vehicle Mechanic, Tank Mechanic, and Sharpshooter while in the military.

He was a TV Technician and the owner/operator for Quebedeaux's TV Service for over 25 years. He was a former member and Forth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 3399 of Krotz Springs and a current member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3496 of Port Barre.

He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, doing handyman welding and woodworking projects, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rita Carriere Quebedeaux of Krotz Springs; son, Gerald Anthony Quebedeaux, Jr. and wife, Laurie of Krotz Springs; two half-brothers, Ambrose Quebedeaux, Jr. of California; and Wayne Quebedeaux of Lafayette; 7 grandchildren, Blake Quebedeaux, Brittany Quebedeaux, Jami Quebedeaux, Aaron Quebedeaux, John "Chip" Toledo, Jr., Hunter Toledo, Danielle Ashley and 2 great-grandchildren, Nova Ashley and Rylan Ryder.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Ann Quebedeaux Binion; grandson, Eric Cormier; his father, Ambrose Quebedeaux, Sr., his mother, Blanche Devillier Castania and step-father, Edward Castania.

Pallbearers will be Blake Quebedeaux, Anthony Quebedeaux, Aaron Quebedeaux, Hunter Toledo, Chip Toledo, and Travis LeBlanc.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
