Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019, for Georgie Stoute Wilson at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Monsignor Russell Harrington will Celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Ms. Wilson, age 87, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas.

Georgie was an avid walker until she couldn't anymore. She loved reading and working puzzle books. She was a parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas where she prayed the rosary and loved attending Mass. Georgie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Paul Wayne Wilson; her daughters, Sharleen Wilson, Carolyn Coburn, Monica Lynn Wilson and her sister, Marjorie Templet. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Euclide Wison; her son, Donald Ray Wilson; her parents, Andrew and Azelma Doucet Stoute; her brothers, Lionel Stoute, August Stoute, Nolan Stoute, Leroy Stoute; her sisters, Therese Konick, Cedelaise, Sonnier, Noelie Roy, Odile Culotta and Regina Moran.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2018, from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will reopen on Monday, January 7, 2018 from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening by Deacon Dwayne Joubert.
