Georgia Soileau

Grand Prairie- Funeral services for Georgia Briley Soileau, age 88, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008 in the St. Peter Catholic Church in Grand Prairie followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Mark Melancon will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mrs. Soileau a native and longtime resident of Grand Prairie, died at 10:04 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Lafayette General Medical Center.

Georgia is survived by a son, Dale H. Soileau and wife Jeanne of Lafayette; a daughter, Renelle Sheets of Lafayette; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Yves Soileau; parents, Arthur and Rosa Lafleur Briley; a daughter, Lena Bertrand; her brothers and a sister.

Visiting will begin on Friday, May 30, 2008 in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 3:00-9:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. until service time.
