Georgia Reed

Funeral services for Georgia LaFleur Reed will be held on Monday September 1, 2014 at 10:00am at the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Deacon Tom Lindsey will conduct the services.

Mrs. Reed, age 105, a resident of Opelousas died on Saturday August 30, 2014 at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was born on December 4, 1908. Mrs. Reed was a nurse for 45 plus years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her 2 grandchildren Kenneth Reed and wife Debbie of Spring, TX, Janice Reed Sowa and husband Mitchell of Austin, TX and 3 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and a step son Roger Reed and wife Jean of Alexandria, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Reed, parents Juste and Marie Fontenot LaFleur, son Kenneth Reed, Sr., brothers Harris and Juste LaFleur, Jr. sisters Helen LaFleur, Bessie LaFleur, Mary Roberie, Clem Barley, Florence LaFleur, Bella Bihm and Eva LaFleur Riegel.

The family has requested visitation be held on Monday at 9:00am until time of services at 10:00am.
