George Moran

Funeral services for George Raymond Moran will be held Tuesday February 10, 2009 at 3:00 pm in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. The interment to take place at St. Anthony Mausoleum. Fr. Mark Ledoux will conduct the services.

Mr. Moran age 73, a resident of 3 mile Lake died Saturday February 7, 2009 at Opelousas General Health System. He worked for the town of Krotz Springs as a maintenance supervisor for 42 years until his retirement. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3496 in Port Barre.

Survivors include his wife Norma Landry Moran of 3 mile Lake, sons; Ricky Moran and wife Debbie of Kaplan, Craig Moran of Krotz Springs, Kurt Moran and wife Allison of Krotz Springs and Patrick Moran of Krotz Springs, daughter; Bridget Leger of 3 mile Lake, sister; Alice Ortis and husband Jules Red Ortis of Krotz Springs, 12 grandchildren; Faith Rathke and husband Jerry, Christopher Moran, Craig Moran II and wife Jamie, Crystal Kirk and husband Roger, Anthony Moran, Jordan Leger and wife Jessica, Andria Leger, Haleigh Moran, Jake Moran, Jada Moran, Alexis Wiltz and Bruce Wiltz and 12 great grandchildren; Kylie Schaffer, Christian Moran, Kaitlyn Moran, Erin Moran, Lauren Moran, Allie Moran, Lance Leger, Andre Leger, Jordan Kirk, Emma Grace Kirk, Nick Rathke and Justin Rathke.

Preceded in death by his parents; Placide and Liddy Gros Moran, sisters; Mabel Soileau, Lovinia Nye Moran and Helen Moran and a brother; Louis Moran.

Visitation will be Monday at 9:00 am and will remain open all night.

A rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 pm.
