George Miller

OpelousasA Mass of Christian Burial for George Miller, age 76, will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde, La. followed by interment in the church cemetery. Father Ted Broussard will conduct the services.

Mr. Miller, a resident of Opelousas, La. passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 5:52 a.m. at his residence.

George enjoyed fishing, playing jokes and enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

He is survived by son, Rick Miller and wife, Rhonda, of Grand Prairie, La. his brothers, Francis Tib Miller and wife, Ora, of Prairie Ronde, La. Roosevelt Miller of Kinder, La. his sisters, Irene Doucet and husband, Raymond, of Lawtell, La. Lee Anna Kidder and husband, Melvin, of Plaisance, La. and Anna Fontenot of Lawtell, La. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Joshua Miller of Baton Rouge, La. Amanda Miller of Opelousas, La. Brandon Arceneaux of Grand Prairie, La. Emily Marcantel and husband, Kyle, of Grand Prairie, La. Heather Wallace and husband, James, of Sunset, La. and 5 greatgrandchildren, Jack, Betsy, Bennett and Katherine Wallace all of Sunset, La. and Bailey Marcantel of Grand Prairie, La.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Doucet Miller his parents, John Miller and Ella Mae Savoy Miller and his brothers, Joseph Miller, Horace Miller and Lloyd Miller.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
