George Frederick Krasgrow, Jr., a native of Melville and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the age of 74.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army, was the owner and operator of Southern Tower Service, and acted as Principal, teacher, and benefactor of Melville Private School for the past 48 years. He taught Sunday School at the Florida Boulevard Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. George was very dedicated to his faith, his family and his students. His generosity and kindness touched the lives of many people.
He is survived by his brother, Gerald Krasgrow; brother-in-law, J.W. Morel; nieces and nephews, Melette Devillier; Jay, Kristy, and Andy Morel; Adam Krasgrow, Janel Peck; several great nieces and nephews; and close friend, Dottie Burleigh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Fredrick Krasgrow and Marjorie Mae Adams; sister, Liz Krasgrow Morel; and niece, Theresa Devillier Comeaux.
Pallbearers will be Jay Morel, Andy Morel, Logan Morel, David White, Sam Brooks, and Gary Guitreau.
Visitation will be held at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. It will continue, Monday, April 16, 2018 at Melville Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Melville Baptist Church Cemetery.
