George Guillory

He was born December 24, 1938.

Funeral services for George A. Guillory were held at 2:00PM at the Melville Methodist Church on Saturday, September 22, 2007, followed by the interment in the Baptist Cemetery in Melville. The Rev. Buddy Webb conducted the services.

Mr. Guillory, age 68, who was a resident of Melville, died at Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette September 20th, 2007 at 7:50PM.

He was a retired mechanic and a former councilman and Fire Chief for the town of Melville.

George is survived by his wife; Dorene P. Mouille Guillory of Melville, his sons; George Anthony and his wife Ada of Fordoche, Gardon Phillip and his wife Debbie of Lafayette, Daniel Danny and his wife Leslie of Carencro and Russell Wayne Rusty and his wife Jenny of Melville, his daughters; Anna Michelle Lane and her husband Les of Baton Rouge, Ella Faye Guillory of Atlanta, Ga.and Patricia Lynn DeFee and her husband Steve of Calion, AR. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; Ruby Broussard and her husband Eddie, Crystal Guillory, George Anthony Jr. and his wife Renee, Christopher Short and his wife Kristie, Blake Guillory, Alex Guillory, Jason Lane, Brandon Stelly, Sara Lane, Jocelyn Guillory, Bradley Stelly, Landon Melancon, Rylan Melancon, Riddock Popps, Mauri DeFee and Steven DeFee, 4 great-grandchildren, Randi M. Broussard, Reegan Grace Broussard, Christopher Gage Short and Tyler Carter and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help

Mr. Guillory was preceded in death by 1 son; Joshua Wade Guillory, his mother; Bertha Johnson, his father; Israel Geeary, 1 brother; Ross Long, 6 sisters; Anna Long Roy; Elouise Long Venable, Marion Guillory, Gloria Guillory Ryder, Ethel Jewel Guillory Olivier and twin Sister; Georgette Guillory.

The pallbearers were George Anthony Guillory, Gardon Phillip Guillory, Danny Popps, Rusty Guillory, Les Lane, Steve DeFee and Christopher Short. The Honorary pallbearers were George Anthony Guillory Jr., Blake Guillory, Alex Guillory, Jason Lane and Brandon Stelly.

Visitation was Friday, September 21 from 5:00PM at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville and remained open all night until time of service.
