Gene Wyble

Opelousas Service for Gene Poppa Gene Wyble, age 74, will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Rev. Larry James Thibodeaux will conduct the services.

Mr. Wyble, a resident of Krotz Springs, La., died on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 8:35 p.m. at Opelousas General Health System.

Mr. Wyble belonged to the Baton Rouge Local 1098 Carpenters Union.

He is survived by his wife, Virgie Fontenot Wyble; two sons; six daughters; his two brothers, Johnny Wyble of New Iberia, La.; Carlin Wyble of Grand Coteau, La.; his sisters, Evelyn Wyble Lavergne of Lafayette, La.; Deanna Wyble Ziegler of Lawtell, La. and Jackie Walnath of Ohio. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Wyble was preceded in death by his parents, Adrien Wyble, Sr. and Celeman Douget Wyble and his brothers, Adrien Wyble, Jr. and Oren Wyble.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening by Rev. Larry James Thibodeaux.
