Gene Bourdier

Funeral services for Kenneth E. Gene Bourdier will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church with the interment in Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi and Reverend Henry Broussard will conduct the services.

Mr. Bourdier, age 71, passed away at Doctors Hospital in Opelousas, Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 10:20 a.m. after a short illness.

He is a retired salesman for Scott Equipment Co. in Broussard, having worked there for 26 years. He was a special and loving person.

Gene is survived by his wife: Bessie Stelly Bourdier of Opelousas, his mother: Beatrice Bourdier of Opelousas, his son: William Billy Bourdier of Houma, La. his daughter: Kelly Bourdier Howard and her husband Mike of Opelousas and a sister: Barbara B. Hidalgo and husband Joseph also of Opelousas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and 3 grandchildren: Lacey Howard of Lafayette, Lindsey Howard and Matthew Howard of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his father: William G. Bourdier and a brother: William G. Bourdier, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Hidalgo. Michael Howard, Edward Stelly, Ellis Fontenot, Donald McSpadden and Edmond Pavy. Honarary pallbearers will be Joseph Bud Hooks, Pat Artall and Matt Howard. The readers will be Lacey Howard and Lindsey Howard and the gift bearers will be Denise Greene and Cheryl Hidalgo. Music will be provided by Valerie Andrus.

The family has requested that donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 16, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
