Gary Stevens

A memorial service will be held by the family of Gary Stevens, during the hours of visitation on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville. The family request visiting hours be held from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Gary Stevens, age 67, a resident of Krotz Springs, LA, and a native of Melville, LA, died on Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas.

Gary loved fishing and spending time outdoors. He was a loving brother and a wonderful friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Stevens Mitchell and Tiffany Stevens; his brothers, Victor Stevens (Sandra), Allen Stevens, Curtis Stevens (Nanie) and his sisters, Anni "Sally" Stevens Triplette; Jennie Stevens Carol (Otis) and Anita Stevens Corne'. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Candice Mitchell, Riata Rae Lecompte, Savannah Haden, Stasia Wood, Kristian Alexander, Ethan Alexander, Journey McCarty and Gavin Wade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. Stevens and Reva Buras Stevens; his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth Gilmore Stevens and William Henry Stevens; his maternal grandparents, Abigail Morgan Buras and Lawrence Buras and his brothers, Lawrence Stevens and Waine Stevens.
