Melville - Funeral services for Gary Wayne Meyers, age 66, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016, at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville, LA with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Aaron Claiborne will conduct the funeral service. Burial will take place at the Melville Baptist Cemetery.

Gary entered his heavenly home on August 17, 2016 at Tri-Community Nursing Home, Lebeau, LA. He was a lifetime resident of Melville, LA. Gary was known as a very happy person, he loved to have fun and joke around. He loved helping others, fishing and working with his hands. He worked all of his adult life in the oilfield and enjoyed every day of it. He was married to Adonna Dickson for 11 years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Kerisa Shaw; his grandchildren, Sheena Shaw (Marcus Davenport), Preston Shaw, Devin Shaw and Erin Meyers; his great-grandchildren, Ma'Kyla Davenport, Malaya Davenport, Adrian Myers and Mariel Davenport and his brother, Darrall "Dobee" Dukes (Juanita) and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Meyers and Mammie Dukes; his son, Gary Wayne Meyers, Jr. and his brothers, Bill Meyers, Terry Meyers and Robert Meyers.
