Garrett Boni

Opelousas Funeral services for Garrett John Boni, age 62, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service.

Mr. Boni, who was a native of Opelousas, La. died at his residence in Baton Rouge, La.
Some of his accomplishments include the following: he was a member of the Baton Rouge Bowling League, a former American Legion baseball umpire, past president of the Sertoma Club and Bona Fidem. He studied extensively at L.S.U. and was a color commentator for high school football. Being Italian, he loved a big plate of spaghetti. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his former wife, Judy Stanford St. Amand of Opelousas, La. his son, Lorne Boni of Sunset, La. his stepson, Joel Swanson and wife, Ariana, of Houston, Texas his brother, Joel Boni of Lafayette, La. his sisters, Debbie Baker of St. Augustine, Florida and Darlene Aucoin and husband, Mark, of Port Barre, La. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Clayton Swanson of Lafayette, La. Colin and Colton Swanson of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Thelma Credeur Boni.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on 9:00 a.m. on Thursday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
