Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Frederick Boudreaux, on Friday, September 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Reverend Gregory Simien will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Boudreaux, age 77, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Opelousas General Health System.
Frederick served his country proudly in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Percy's Repair Shop for many years, worked as a heavy equipment operator for Central Industries and after retirement, he worked for Bodemuller's. Frederick was a past member of the Elks Lodge 1048 and was a longtime supporter and volunteer couch with the Special Olympics. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, fishing and golfing. Frederick will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his nieces, Phyllis Soileau Cagnola and her son, Alex; Stacey Soileau Oates and husband, Tommy and children, Joseph and Elizabeth; his brothers, Robert Boudreaux and wife, Kathy; Leon Boudreaux and wife, Karen; Placide Boudreaux; his sisters, Claudette Gordon and her late husband, Rudolph L. Gordon and Cynthia Quebedeaux and husband, Keith and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Emily Rose Reed Boudreaux and his parents, John Earl Boudreaux and Hilda Credeur Boudreaux.
Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday by Deacon Ulysse Joubert.
Pallbearers will be Robert Boudreaux, Bryant Collins, Todd Soileau, Freddy Credeur, Joe Credeur and Alex Cagnola. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Soileau and Leon Boudreaux, Placide Boudreaux.
The family would like to give a special acknowledgement to the staff of the Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Dr. Michael Burnell and Dr. John Vallee.
