Franklin Cormier

Lewisburg A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Franklin Frank Thomas Cormier, age 68, will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. John Catholic Church in Lewisburg, La., followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Father Austin Leger will conduct the services.

Mr. Cormier, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Cormier was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Medical Board of Directors of the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point, President of the Lewisburg Water District and he was an usher at St. John Catholic Church in Lewisburg. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by wife, Betty Cormier of Lewisburg, La.; his sons, Chris Cormier and wife, Melissa, of Sunset, La.; Kevin Cormier of Spring, Texas; his daughter, Cindy Bellard and husband, Benjie, of Lewisburg, La.; his brothers, Roy Cormier of Dallas, Texas; Archie Cormier of Baton Rouge, La.; Murphy Cormier of Lake Charles, La.; Pat Cormier of Rayne, La. and Terry Cormier of Baton Rouge, La. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Britany Cormier, Savannah Cormier, Hailey Bellard, Heidi Bellard and Harley Bellard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ruby Cormier and his sister, Cecile Deshotel.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 until time of service.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009.

Pallbearers will be: Chris Cormier, Kevin Cormier, Benjie Bellard, Roy Cormier, Murphy Cormier, Archie Cormier, Pat Cormier and Terry Cormier.
