Frank Graffagnino, Jr.

Funeral service for Frank Graffagnino, Jr. will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Visiting will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday at 8:00 a.m. until service time.
A rosary will be led by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Frank Graffagnino, Jr, age 88, who was a native and lifelong resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Saturday, September 06, 2014 at the Cornerstone Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Frank was a first generation American citizen as his parents, Frank Graffagnino, Sr. and Rosa Marie Graffagnino immigrated to the United States of America from Salaparuta, Sicily.
Mr. Graffagnino was as a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country as an aviation machinists mate during World War II. He was a bus driver for the St. Landry Parish School Board, a member of the Bona Fidem Auxilliary, an avid hunter, fisherman, coin collector and woodworker. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, Carroll James Graffagnino and wife, Lynn of Lafayette, LA daughter, Rose Graffagnino Swank of Alexandria, LA sister, Josephine Graffagnino Persica of Opelousas grandsons, Vincent C. Graffagnino and Frank J. Graffagnino granddaughter, Emily Graffagnino Herpin and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Viola Reed Graffagnino brothers, Pete, Tony, Vincent, Charlie and Joe Graffagnino sister, Rosalie Graffagnino Pepitone.
