OpelousasA Mass of Christian Burial for Francis Fran Wilson, Jr., age 80, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church. The Monsignor Robert Romero will officiate the services. Interment will follow at the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La.
Mr. Wilson passed away on June 17, 2009 at Opelousas General Health System.
Mr. Wilson was a farmer. He also owned and operated Wilsons Gulf Station for 20 years. He was also co-owner of L.J.s Gulf Station. He was a school bus driver for 20 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the National Guard Service.
He is survived by his spouse, Una Soileau Wilson; his daughters, Sandra Billeaudeau and husband, Donald, of Sunset, La. and Peggy Wartelle and husband, William Butch, of Opelousas, La. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Willie Wilson of Washington, La.; Frank Wilson of Kiln, Mississippi; Dudley Wilson of Opelousas, La. and his grandchildren, Tricia Dauzat and her husband Keith; Tobi Stelly and her fiance Dustin Oxford; Jamie Beebe and her husband Jake and Bryan Stelly. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Haley Register, Mallori St. Martin, Aidan Beebe, Anistin Oxford and Hannah Dauzat.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Veronica Wilson, Sr. and his siblings, Euclide Wilson, Edwin Wilson and Lillian Guidroz.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited Friday, June 19, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.
