Francis Vidrine

Lawtell - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Francis Rodney Vidrine, age 84, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015, in St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Bridget Church Cemetery. Reverend Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Vidrine, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by companion, Verna Vidrine, of Opelousas, LA; his son, Francis Vidrine, and wife, Cathy, of Nuba, LA; Chris Vidrine and wife, Sylvia, of Opelousas, LA; his daughters, Sharon Cary and husband, Neil, of Covington, LA; Peggy Holloway and husband, David, of Mobile, AL; Rachel Vidrine of New Orleans, LA and his brother, Roy Vidrine, of Ville Platte, LA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Vidrine and Camilia Catore Vidrine; his brothers, Olide Vidrine, Golden Vidrine and Curry Vidrine and his sisters, Youfa Fontenot, Lenus Fontenot and Gladys Sonnier.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
