Francis Thibodeaux

Krotz Springs- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Francis Leon Thibodeaux at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 in the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery. The Reverend Chan Nguyen will celebrate the Mass. Dr. Candice Faith Landry will be the reader and the eulogy will be by Larry Thibodeaux.

Mr. Thibodeaux, age 67, who was born in Opelousas, LA and was a resident of Krotz Springs, died on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Pineville, LA.

Francis proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. During his service time, he became the Air Force Base Middle Weight Boxing Champion. He was a Master Craftsman and the inventor of the "Pro Square" tool. Francis also built, owned and operated a saw mill and was the owner of Realwood Industries.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Anna Thibodeaux of Krotz Springs, LA; mother, Gussie Jane Veillon Thibodeaux of Krotz Springs, LA; sons, Steve Thibodeaux and wife Renee of Kansas City, MO and Jason Leon Thibodeaux and wife Kate of Carmel, ME; daughter, Dawn Marie Gibbs Mundt and husband Karl of Houston, TX; brother, Larry Thibodeaux and wife Ellen of Batchelor, LA; sister, Beverly Juneau and husband Dan of Moody, AL; sister-in-law, Ann Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Kirstie, Robbi, Harley, Nikki, Steven, Emily, Isabella, Kody and Jak; goddaughter, Pam Johnson; special nieces and nephews, Sean and Candice Landry, Crystal Carter, and Bobby Thibodeaux.

He is preceded in death by his father, L.B. Thibodeaux; son, Cody Saucier; brothers, Joey and Farriel Thibodeaux; his paternal grandparents, Steve and Agnes Dicapo.

Pallbearers will be Steve Thibodeaux, Jason Thibodeaux, Sean Landry, Karl Mundt, Robbie Thibodeaux, Steven Thibodeaux, Harley Duplechain and Travis Gerace. Honorary pallbearer is Kenny Neely.

The family requests visiting in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs beginning Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 4:00- 10:00 p.m., Wednesday from 10:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
