Frances Ponthieux

A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances C. Ponthieux will be held on Thursday June 20, 2013 at 11:00am at the St. John Catholic Church in Melville. Rite of Committal will be at the St. John Mausoleum. Fr. James Nguyen will be the celebrant.

Mrs. Ponthieux, age 83, a resident of Melville, died Monday June 17, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. She was a homemaker and loved her flowers and working outside in the yard and also spending time with her great grandchildren.

She is survived by son Larry Ponthieux and wife Marianne of Melville, brothers Anthony Collette and wife Rosie of Baton Rouge, Sam Collette and wife Mabel of Baton Rouge and Mitchell Collette and wife Venida of Lottie, grandchildren Joshua Ponthieux and wife Desi of Melville, Chrissy Grayson and husband Jimmy of Bayou Rouge and Cole Ponthieux and fianc Ashley Kilcrease of Melville and great grandchildren Cole Lil Evans Ponthieux, Owen Ponthieux, Ashley, Taylor and Courtney Grayson.

Preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Ponthieux, parents Nick and Frances Collette and a brother Frank Collette.

The family has requested visitation be held on Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 4:00pm and will remain open all night. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm.

Pallbearers will be Cole Ponthieux, Joshua Ponthieux, Sam Collette, Eric Collette, Chad Collette, Ronnie Collette. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell Collette and Alvin Mose.
