Fleta Boagni

Opelousas – Funeral services for Fleta Hollier Boagni will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, La.  The Very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will conduct the service.  A Private Rite of Committal will be held following the service.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A time of sharing will begin before the service at 12:30 p.m.

It is with deep sorrow we regretfully announce the passing of Fleta Hollier Boagni on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the age of 94.

Fleta was a graduate of the Academy of Immaculate Conception.  After high school she attended Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Louisiana Orphan Train Society.  In her professional career, she worked as a social worker in the school system and the welfare office.  She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed baking, sewing, and making arts and crafts.  Most of all, she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Fleta will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Robert Boagni and wife, Jill and her daughters, Cathy Bordelon and her husband, J.Y. and Jan Doucet and her husband, Glenn.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Boagni, Jr. and her parents, John Smith Hollier and Louise Mills Hollier.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Acadiana in Fleta Boagni’s name.
