Opelousas Services for Fannie Wedlock Sonnier, age 72, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Plaisance. Monsignor Louis Melancon will conduct the service.
Mrs. Sonnier who was a native of Prairie Ronde and resident of Jennings, died on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Darral G. Sonnier and wife Tiffany M. Sonnier of Jennings, Paul E. Tate of Abbeville, and Richard Tate of Jennings daughter, Grace T. Rogers and husband Paul P. Rogers of Marrero, La. four grandchildren, Blain Sonnier, Bailey Sonnier, Dana G. Walker, and Jenna Gaspar and two great grandchildren, Toriann Ealem and Isabella Bertot. She is also survived by her brothers, Louis Wedlock and John Earl Wedlock both of Ville Platte, La. and her sister, Dianna W. Rogers and stepsister, Judy Miller both of Mamou, La.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonier Sonnier, her parents, Mason Wedlock and Grace Catiore her grandparents, Ban and Fannielee Wedlock and Louis and Blanche Latiolais her stepfather, Joseph Pierre Catiore, Sr. and her two stepbrothers, James Catiore and Joseph Pierre Catiore, Jr.
Visitation will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas beginning Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m., with a prayer service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
