Estelle Chautin

Opelousas- Funeral services for Estelle Richard Chautin, age 81, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services.

Estelle Chautin, who was a native of Port Barre and resident of Opelousas, died at 7:55 p.m. on March 16, 2008 at Senior Village Nursing Home.

Mrs. Chautin enjoyed being a homemaker, she loved sewing, being a grandmother and being a mother. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family

Survivors include her sons, Joseph C. Dupre and his wife, Flo, of Prairie Ronde; John A. Chautin and his wife, Gail, of Cecilia; Ronald J. Chautin and his wife, Beverly, of Opelousas; Gary Chautin and his wife, Wendy, of Opelousas; her daughters, Belinda Chautin, who was her caregiver, of Opelousas; and Mary Thibodeaux and her husband, Glen, of Opelousas. Her daughter-in-law Rita Dupre' of Port Barre, She was also survived by 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gilbert Chautin; her son, Charles Ray Dupre; brothers, Ivy Richard, Otis Richard, Dalton Richard, Leo Richard and her sisters, Franzine Guillory, Beatrice Guillory and Mamie Kidder.

Pallbearers will be Gary Chautin, Ronnie Chautin, John Chautin, Brad Dupre, Kevin Thibodeaux and Michael Chautin. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Dupre.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until service time.
