Essie Lanclos

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Essie Lee Lanclos, the former Essie Lee Stelly at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the church mausoleum. The Reverend Ken Domingue will celebrate the Mass.
Ms. Lanclos, a resident of Leonville, LA, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Senior Village Nursing Home.

Ms. Lanclos loved Cajun music, cooking, sewing. She took great pride in her appearance. Ms. Lanclos enjoyed being with her family and babysitting her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, George Lee Lanclos and wife Carolyn and Jerry Edward Lanclos and wife Kathy; her daughter, Darlene Dianne Lanclos Bolfer and husband Wayne; her brother, Curtis Stelly; her sisters, Hazel Riley and Cheryl Benoit; her grandchildren, Tonya Roberie, Damien Lanclos, Alyse Lanclos, Chastity Barron, Tracy Lanclos, Keri Barousse, Trenton Bolfer; her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Camille, and Cain Roberie, Averie Lanclos, Lily, Kennedy, and Essie Barousse, Eli, Sam, and Nathan Bolfer, Evan and Anna Barron and Cameron Ethridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lanclos; her parents, Celonie Stelly and Frank Stelly, Jr.; her sisters, Thelma Zerangue and Lucy Fitzgerald; her brothers, Frank Lee Stelly and Ervin Stelly and her infant sibilings.

Pallbearers will be George Lanclos, Jerry Lanclos, Wayne Bolfer, Damien Lanclos, Trenton Bolfer, Dutch Roberie, James Barousse and Andy Barron.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed Thursday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Friday, December 30, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
