Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Eric Richard Lord, age 48, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Reverend Andre Herpin will conduct the funeral service.

Eric, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at his residence.

Eric worked in the oilfield for 26 years and enjoyed making things explode. He enjoyed watching football and wrestling. Eric had a great love for the Lord. He cherished spending time with his two grandchildren that he loved dearly. Eric was always one to share a compliment and a smile with everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Shawnee Leger Lord of Opelousas, LA; his mother, Lynda Williams; his son, Eric Duff of Lafayette, LA; his step-son, Kamin Zerangue and fiance, Rikki Gaspard, of Opelousas, LA; his step-daughter, Kelsey Lauchner and fiance, Coby David, of Arnaudville, LA; his sisters, Karen Tillett, Kimberly Fincher, Deborah Lord, Rhonda Lord; his mother and father-in-law Randall and Shirley Leger Thibodeaux of Leonville, LA and his two grandchildren, Chandler and Julianna David. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Fincher.

Pallbearers will be Coby David, Randall Thibodeaux, Chance Romero, William Hopstetter, Wayne Borne and Kamin Zerangue.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.
