Krotz Springs A Mass of Christian Burial for Emma Krotz Quebedeaux, age 92, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in the St. Anthony Catholic Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Mark Ledoux will be the celebrant of the Mass.
Mrs. Quebedeaux, who was a lifelong resident of Krotz Springs, died at the St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas.
Her grandfather, Mr. C.W. Krotz was the founder of Krotz Springs. She was the owner and operator of the City Market grocery store for over 50 years. Emma loved spending time with her loving daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included working with flowers and telling stories to her friends about growing up in Krotz Springs.
Survivors include her daughter, Glenda D. Kelley of Krotz Springs two grandchildren, Deborah K. Wiley and husband George T. Wiley, II of Krotz Springs and Douglas Charles Kelley of Krotz Springs great grandchildren, Erin Wiley, George Trey Wiley, III, Douglas Charles Kelley, II, Richard S. Wiley, II, and Christine B. Wiley.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leland Quebedeaux parents, Alve and Celina Chachere Krotz daughter, Shelley Barras brothers, A.W. Krotz and Robert Krotz and sisters, Doris Krotz Reed and Thelma Krotz Trosclair.
Visiting hours will be observed in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
