Emma Leger

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that Mrs. Emma Jean Barron Leger, age 75, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Opelousas General Health System.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.  Monsignor Russell Harrington will conduct the service.

Emma loved watching TV shows, reading the newspaper and taking road trips with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by sons, Elvin J. Leger, Jr., Donald James Leger; her daughters, Annette L. Amy and husband, Mark, Lisa L. Stevens and husband, Mark, Christine L. Porche and husband, Lester, Charlotte L. Ardoin and husband, Robert, Patricia L. Deville and husband, Keith; her brother, Ray Barron and wife, Shirley; her sister, Eva Laborde and husband, Bernell and her sister-in-law, Penny Barron.  She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Joseph Leger, Sr.; her parents, Dallas Barron, Sr. and Amy Janice Barron; her brother, Dallas Barron, Jr.; her grandchildren, Randy Randel and Elvin Randel and her great-grandchild, Gabriel Prudhomme.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and re-open on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM by Deacon Dwayne Joubert.

Pallbearers will be Robert Ardoin, Sr., Keith Deville, Lester Porche, Mark Stevens, Donald Leger and Mark Amy.
