Opelousas Services for Emily Sue Deville, age 64, will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in the Waxia Methodist Church Cemetery in Waxia, La. Reverend Pete Smith will officiate the services.
Sue, who was a resident of Washington, La., died at her residence on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.
Sue was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Fidelity 160, Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Daughters of Liberty, ABWA, Daughters of the Confederacy, Louisiana Genealogical Society, American Nurses Association and retired as the Museum Director for the City of Opelousas.
She is survived by her son, Gil Deville, Jr. and wife, Meg, of Waxia, La. Stacy Deville and wife, Jennifer, of Cankton, La. her daughters, Dee Duhon and husband, Gerald, of Opelousas, La. Ginger Gobert of Jacksonville, Florida Beth Davis of Waxia, La. and Donna LeBlanc and husband, Rob, of Scott, La. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Duckworth Woods and Lester Woods and her husband, Gil Deville, Sr. all of Waxia, La.
Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
