Eloise was active in fellowship with her friends and family who met at the Krotz Springs Community Center for the monthly Senior Citizen Events and the “Old Folks” Meetings.  She loved traveling with school groups on bus trips throughout the states and her ladies' trips to Mexico.  Eloise absolutely loved going to church, listening to music, cooking for her family, cleaning her house, reading, planting flowers, and talking and visiting.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family and teaching her grandchildren everything she knew which meant so much to her.  She had a sassy and witty sense of humor and loved to laugh about it.  She was an amazing nurse and caretaker for nearly 60 years and enjoyed every minute of it.  Eloise never met a stranger and would interact with everyone.  She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Ortego and wife, Virginia; Kevin Ortego, and Kirtley “Jay” Ortego II and wife, Krystal,  all of Krotz Springs; her brother, Oliver "Bay" Coulon of Melville; her sister, Ruth C. Thibodeaux and husband, Mike of Houma; five grandchildren: Holly Ortego of Krotz Springs; Nikki Ortego Perrault and husband, Hunter of Livonia; Mallory Ortego Fontenot and husband, Chris of Krotz Spring; Jayce Ortego and fiancé, Gracey Leonards of Krotz Springs; and Anthony Ortego; four great-grandchildren, Remi Mires, Landen Fontenot, Brynn Perrault, and Nash Perrault; and one Godchild, Danielle Coulon of Krotz Springs.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 1/2 years, Kirtley J. Ortego; her parents, Frank Louis Coulon and Selima Tassin Coulon; her sisters, Claira Coulon and Marie Savoie; and her brothers, Frank Louis Coulon, Jr. and Lionel Michael Coulon.
