Krotz Springs - Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017 for Elmyra L. Barker at First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ms. Barker, age 78 and resident of Krotz Springs, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.

Elmyra loved to read the Bible. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elmyra will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Charlie Gautreaux and wife, D.J., Tim Goutro and wife, Kathy and Nathan Goutro and wife, Marlyn; daughter, Myra Elizabeth Deville; brothers, Allan Gilbert and Don Simmons; nieces, Elsie and Linda; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Harvey Gilbert; sister, Mary Hayes; son, Foster Goutro, Jr.; father, Donovan Simmons; and brother, Henry Simmons.

Visitation will be held at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. and continue all night until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Goutro, Jr., Foster Goutro, III, Tim Elvin Goutro, Spencer Fontenot, Bryce Fournerat and Tim Elvin Goutro, Jr.
