Elmer Lester

Wichita Falls, Texas Funeral services for Elmer M. Lester will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La. The Reverend Perry Hubbs will conduct the service. Interment will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. in the Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas with military honors.

Mr. Lester, age 93, a resident of St. Landry Parish and formerly of Wichita Falls, Texas, died on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his residence.

Elmer was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII in Europe, France and Italy. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, Texas and a member of the Knights of Temple of Wichita Falls, Texas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his brothers, Ramond Lester of Fort Worth, Texas and his three grandchildren, Mark Amy and wife, Annette, of Arnaudville, La. Brett Amy and wife, Jody, of Houston, Texas and Jean Paul Amy of Prairie Ronde, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.M. and Amanda Lester his daughter, Lonna K. Amy and his brother, Lonnie H. Lester.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
