Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ellen Marie Stelly Richard, age 48, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, La. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery with Reverend Ken Domingue.

Ellen, a resident of Arnaudville, La., died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at her residence.

Ellen enjoyed deer hunting, cooking and praying her rosary. She loved her dogs, Spike and Tip. She enjoyed making people laugh and was a very caring person but her true love was spending time with her loving family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Richard, of Arnaudville, La. her sons, Daniel Carriere and girlfriend, April Dekerlegand, of Arnaudville, La. Brandon Richard and wife, Shanae, of Mire, La. her daughter, Mandy Marcantel and husband, Justin, of Kinder, La. her brothers, Joseph Adley Stelly of Leonville, La. J.B. Stelly and wife, Ann, of Leonville, La. her sisters, Eula Mae Pitre and husband, Nolton Roger Pitre, Jr., of Opelousas, La. Rita Marie Pitre and husband, Kenneth Pitre, Sr., of Leonville, La. and Irene Domec and husband, Ernest Domec, of Opelousas, La. She is survived by six grandchildren, Tatum Richard, Elizabeth Dekerlegand, Darian Richard, Abbie Marcantel and Ty Marcantel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adley and Marie Esther Stelly her sisterinlaw, Cecile Pitre Stelly her nephew, Brently Jayce Domec and her fatherinlaw, Leon Daly Carriere.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Friday, August 10, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. open all night until service time at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Carriere, Brandon Richard, Jay Lynn Goudeaux, Jason Domec, Brent Domec and Blaine Stelly. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Marcantel.
