Ella Mae Kolder

Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ella Mae Comeaux Kolder at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA.  Father Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and interment will be held in the St. Bridget Church Cemetery in Lawtell.

Visitation will be held in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 9:30 a.m.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ella Mae Comeaux, age 90, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

Ella was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family.  Her faith was very important to her.  She was a devout Catholic and attended church regularly.  Ella enjoyed working outside in her yard, gardening, and tending to her flowers.  She loved spending time her family and friends and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, C. Burton Kolder and wife, Brenda Darbonne Kolder of Lafayette; and her daughter, Vickie Kolder Nezat and husband, Steve Nezat of Youngsville.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Brad Kolder and wife, Monique of Lafayette; Eric Kolder and wife, Mary of Tyler, TX; Laurie Kolder McCormic and husband, Nic of Lafayette; and Alexis Nezat of Youngsville; and her great-grandchildren, Noah McCormic, Madeline McCormic, Ann Marie McCormic, Sophia Kolder, Rolf Kolder, Charles Kolder, Wesley Kolder, David Kolder and Ashton Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kolder, Jr.; her brother, Irby Comeaux and her parents, Bercier Comeaux and Bernice Richard Comeaux.

Pallbearers will be Brad Kolder, Roy Kolder, Nic McCormic, Noah McCormic, Bryan Joubert and Wayne Bourque.
