Ella Kerr

Opelousas- Funeral services for Ella Mae S. Kerr, 87, are to be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Ella Mae Kerr, a native of Grand Prairie and resident of Opelousas, died at 4:00PM on Monday, November 12, 2007 in the Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Nan was a loving and caring person who gave to others by volunteering her time to the elderly particularly at Prompt Succor Nursing Home prior to her residence there. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Kerr is survived by a son, Clifford Greg Kerr and wife Lou Ella of Scott; two brothers, Gilbert Boze Soileau of Richmond, VA and Richard Soileau of Opelousas; a sister, Mrs. Amy Soileau Veillon of Lafayette; 3 grandchildren, Shelly Ann Devillier, Jason Brian Leger, and Cheree G. Kerr; 2 great grandchildren, Shelby Merrick Murtagh and Theodore Teddy Randall Kerr.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Gabriel Kerr; parents, Willy and Emily Smith Soileau and a granddaughter, Bridget Renee Moran.

Visiting will be observed on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas from 9:00AM until service time.
