Ella Hymel

Funeral services for Ella Mae Deville Hymel will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 12:30PM in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Curtis Mallet will conduct the services.

Mrs. Hymel, age 81, died Thursday, September 4th, 2008 at our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Lafayette.

She was a member of Ellas Bourre club and the members are; Kathy, Laurie, Wanda, Maddie, Verna, Bertha, Rita, Rose, MaMa Smith, Mom Mom Barthe and Mom Mom Edith.

Mrs. Hymel is survived by her sons, Malcolm Hymel; Val Hymel and Melissa Deaton and Dwayne Scherer and his adopted son all of Lafayette; her daughters, Jeannie Gregory and her husband, Wayne, of Turkey Creek and Margie Latiolais and her husband, Gerald, of Lafayette; her brothers, Joseph Deville and his wife, Mary Lou, of Opelousas and John Talley Deville of Port Barre; her sister, Rose Deville Burleigh and her husband, Charles, of Sunset. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Earl Hebert, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, Stephanie Gregory; Pipier Gregory; Rachael Hymel and Trenton Hymel; 2 great-grandchildren, Jordon Hebert and Layla Phimmanichgun and her step-father, Pierre Martin, of Opelousas, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Paul Hymel; her parents, Dolzie Deville and Amelie Guillory Martin and her brother, Harry Lee Deville.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 2:00PM to 9:00PM and will continue on Sunday from 8:00AM until the time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM on Saturday.
