Ella Bertrand

Funeral services for Ella B. Bertrand, the former Ella Boone, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 in the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend David Fultz will conduct the service.
Ella B. Bertrand, age 84, who was a native of Mallet, LA and a lifelong resident of Lawtell, LA died at Opelousas General Health System at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013.
Ella was a loving mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Allen J. Bertrand and wife Emma of Melville daughter, Elaine Mayeux and husband Terrell of Lawtell brother, Adrian Boone of Eunice sisters, Victoria Pitre of Lawtell, Eva Mae Boone of Lawtell, Velma Boone of Lawtell and Virginia Bertrand of Opelousas 3 grandchildren, Mark Bertrand, Marshall Bertrand and Jonathan T. Mayeux 8 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Eluse Bertrand parents, Henry Boone, Sr. and Amy Marie LaJeune Boone brothers, Hildon, Henry, James, L.G., Anthony and Daniel Boone sisters, Ruby Granger, Wilma Soileau, and Mary Lou Boone.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Bertrand, Jonathan Mayeux, Cody Cozad, Blaine Bertrand, Leonard Bertrand and Curtis Vasseur, Jr.
Visiting hours will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Saturday, March 09, 2013 from 5:00 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
