Elder Gautreaux

Opelousas Funeral services for Elder Fontenot Gautreaux, age 67, will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Landry Catholic Church with interment in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La. Monsignor Robert Romero will officiate the services.

Mrs. Gautreaux, a resident of Opelousas, died at Opelousas General Health System on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.

She is survived by her son, Jason Gautreaux and wife, Jessica Russell, of Sunset, La.; her brothers, Harold Fontenot and wife, Brenda, of Metairie, La.; Jerry Fontenot and wife, Anna Lou, of Ville Platte, La. and her sister, Pearl Sarver and husband, Jack, of Lafayette, La. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kevin and Karen Powell, Angie and Joe Bouchard, Billy David Fontenot, John Paul Fontenot and Michael Sarver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gautreaux; her sister, Mary Powell; her parents, Louis Fontenot and Jena Lafleur and a nephew, Barry Sarver.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009 until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009.
