Effie Leger

Funeral services for Effie Bertrand Leger will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in the Bayou Rouge Pentecostal Church followed by interment in the Bayou Rouge Church Cemetery. The Reverend Leon Fontenot will conduct the service.

Mrs. Leger, age 97, a resident of Palmetto, La., died on Monday, November 28, 2011 at the TriCommunity Nursing Home in Palmetto.

Effie was a long time member of the Bayou Rouge Pentecostal Church and also the Krotz Springs Pentecostal Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Gene Leger and wife, Winnie, of Krotz Springs, La. her daughter, Gloria Leger Morrow and husband, Sam, of Krotz Springs, La. and her sisters, Beulah Konickie of San Antonio, Texas and Wilda Leger Deshotel of Palmetto, La. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 greatgrandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Felton Leger her parents, Edgar Bertrand, Jr. and Leola Frame Bertrand her brothers, J.B. Bertrand and Joel Bertrand her two sisters, Lois Trubone and Pearlarine Phillips and one grandchild, Samuel Michael Morrow.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Bayou Rouge Pentecostal Church beginning on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until service time.
