Effie Ardoin

A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Effie G. Ardoin will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Reverend Michael DeBlanc will be the main celebrant, co-celebrants Reverend Robert Courville and Reverend Jason Vidrine. Burial will follow at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Cemetery in Krotz Springs. Mrs. Ardoin, age 88 passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. "Maw Effie" was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She assisted many families at their time of need while employed by Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home. Her greatest joy was her Sunday lunch gatherings with her family, attending mass daily, and serving as a layperson for shut-ins. She was a talented seamstress who created wedding dresses for her granddaughters and handmade quilts for all of her grandchildren.

Her family and friends will dearly miss her. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ardoin Lacobie and her husband Bill of Krotz Springs; her three sons, Wayne Ardoin and his wife Brun of Opelousas, Brent Ardoin and his wife Phyllis of Krotz Springs, and Keith Ardoin and his wife Sabrina, of Krotz Springs; her two sisters, Emily Charlie of Ville Platte and LouAna Guillory of Carencro; her brother Rene "J.R." Guillory and wife Janice of Pine Prairie; her sister-in-law, Virgie Berzas of Kinder; eleven grandchildren Aimee Barras, Billy Lacobie, Robie Ardoin, Wendy Marks, Danny Ardoin, Theresa Schumacher, Cassie Hooks, Nikki Lacobie, TJ Ardoin, Brandon Ardoin, and Holly Ardoin and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Avie Ardoin; her parents Rene O.Z. Guillory and Elize Ortego Guillory; brothers Efton, Dalbis, and AJ Guillory; sisters Vina Fontenot, Anna Bell Deshotel, Beulah Douget, and Thelma Deshotel.

Pallbearers will be Billy Lacobie, Robie Ardoin, Danny Ardoin, TJ Ardoin, Brandon Ardoin, and Dallas Ardoin.

Visitation will be held at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs on Monday, June 11, 2018, from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Reverend Michael DeBlanc will recite a rosary on Monday at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 8:00 am until the time of the funeral mass. Lectors will be Janice Guillory, Holly Ardoin, and Wendy Marks. Gift Bearers will be Aimee Barras, Theresa Schumacher, Cassie Hooks, and Nikki Lacobie. Marla Faust and organist, Juanita Reed, will provide musical selections.
