A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward “Duwa” Wiltz will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. Father Henry Antony will officiate the services. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Anthony Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Peyton Parker, Trey Parker, Richard Parker, Jr., Bill Wiltz, Arnold Wiltz, Gary Van Winkle and Jay Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Wiltz, Alfred Wiltz, Jr., Tim Kimble, Ben Morton and Charles McDaniel.
Visitation will take place in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 a.m.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward “Duwa” Wiltz, age 72, on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his residence in Krotz Springs, Louisiana surrounded by his family.
Ed dedicated a significant portion of his life to public service and safety. He worked at the Delek refinery in Krotz Springs for over 33 years, exemplifying hard work and dedication in all his endeavors, where he was a member of the EMT-Fire and Rescue and HAZMAT. He additionally contributed 15 years to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as a member of the Flotilla 44.
He was not only devoted to his career but also to his family, with whom he cherished many moments. Ed loved spending time watching his grandsons play sports, an activity that brought him great joy. Known for his adventurous spirit, he was always eager to try new things, whether it was riding his motorcycle, scuba diving, or flying. His love for reading complemented his adventurous lifestyle, reflecting a man who embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Among his proudest accomplishments was coaching the Special Olympics swim team, a testament to his passion for helping others and making a positive impact in his community.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diana Armond Wiltz, of Krotz Springs, La.; his daughter, Rachael Wiltz Parker, and her husband, Richard G. Parker, Jr., of Youngsville, La.; his brothers, Allen Wiltz of Raceland, La., Alfred Wiltz and his wife, Nancy, of Krotz Springs, La., Bill Wiltz and his wife, Karen, of Krotz Springs, La., Arnold Wiltz and his wife, Bernadine, of Krotz Springs, La. and his sister, Joyce Wiltz Soileau of Krotz Springs, La.; and his two grandsons, Peyton Parker and Trey Parker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Wiltz, Sr. and Lovina Guidry Wiltz; his in-laws, Clyde Armond and Lucy Polotzola Armond; his sister, Anna Mae (Makie) Van Winkle; his brother-in-laws, Jimmy Soileau and Thomas Lamana; his sister-in-law, Bobbie Wiltz; as well as his nephews, Alfred Wiltz, III, Chuck Allen Lamana, and his niece, Mary Beth Soileau Morton.
Ed’s legacy of love, adventure, and service will be remembered by all who knew him. His family and friends will carry forward his passion for life and commitment to helping others in their hearts and memories.
