Opelousas – Graveside services for Mr. Dwight Ray will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La. Brother Benny Reppond will conduct the service.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dwight Ray, age 69, of Opelousas, La.  He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.

Dwight loved being outdoors doing yard work.  He enjoyed homecooked food, playing Solitaire and watching Western movies.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Lou F. Ray; brother, James “Jimmy” Carl Ray, of Baton Rouge, La.; his sisters, Marian Darby and husband, Felix, of Opelousas, La., Annette Ray of Opelousas, La. and Linda Ray of Opelousas, La.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and his faithful pet, Toby.

He was preceded in death by father, Donald Clyde Ray.
