EDGAR MARKS
Funeral services for Mr. Edgar T-gar Marks, will be held on Thursday, July 13th, 2006 at 11:00AM at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel on Sunset Highway in Opelousas, with interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington. Rev. James Nguyen will conduct the services.
Mr. Marks, age 95, a long time resident of Palmetto, died at 1:00AM on July 12th at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Palmetto. Mr. Marks retired from the Louisiana State Department of Highways. He was also a cattle farmer in the Palmetto area
His survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Dupre Marks, of 76 loving years of marriage, of Palmetto, 2 sons; Bernard Marks and his wife Jane of Port Barre and J.W. Marks and his wife Norma of Palmetto, 1 daughter; Brenda M. Soileau and her husband Jerry of Palmetto, 8 grandchildren; Kenny Marks, Bonnie Soileau, Gwen Ziegler, Karen Demourelle, Tim Marks, Kelly White, Chad Soileau and Adrienne Soileau, 10 Great-grandchildren; Layla Soileau, Lauri Marks, Anne Marks, Adam Marks, Abrie Soileau, Chris Marks, Kimberly Marks, David Ziegler, Corey Marks, Gabriella Demourelle and 2 Great-great-grandchildren; Andrew Marks and Hailey Rae Viator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Necaisse and Anna Morain Marks, 3 sisters; Helena Guillory, Eula Whittington and Hilda Meche, 1 brother; Clifford Marks and 1 grandson; Dwayne James Marks.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Marks, Tim Marks, Chad Soileau, Adam Marks, Chris Marks and David Ziegler.
Visitation was observed on Wednesday, from 5:00PM to 10:00PM and will continue today from 8:00AM until time of service. A rosary was recited on Wednesday at 7:00PM
