Edaise Hawkins

Opelousas Services for Edaise Guidry Hawkins, age 88, will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum in Opelousas, La. Chaplin Patrick Braquet will conduct the services.

Mrs. Hawkins, who was a resident of Lawtell, La., died on Monday, January 4, 2010 at her residence.

Edaise was a retired nurse from the St. Landry Clinic in Opelousas.

She is survived by her son, Harry Hawkins, Jr. and wife, Rita, of Opelousas, La. her daughters, Shirley Hawkins Savoy of Oakdale, La. Brenda Hawkins Fletcher of Cypress, Texas and her brother, Claude Guidry. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren and 1 greatgreat grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hawkins, Sr. her parents, Joseph Eraste and Marie Ethelzine Bergeron Guidry her sisters, Lilly Johnson, Matilda Rozas, Mary Barry, Veronica Vicknair and her brothers, Lionel Guidry and Lee Guidry.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010.
