Earlis Vidrine

Funeral services for Mrs. Lester Vidrine the former Earlis Fontenot, age 93, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on January 19, 2008, at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Grand Prairie followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Albert Nunez will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mrs. Vidrine who was a native of Plaisance and longtime resident of Washington, died on Friday, January 18, 2007 at 7:00 a.m. at the Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas.

She is survived by her 2 daughters: Rose Goudeau and husband Marion of Texas City, TX and Brenda Manuel and husband Floyd of Hammond; 9 sons, Nelson Vidrine and wife Sylvia, Elbon Vidrine and wife Belle, Kenneth Vidrine and wife Sandra and Gary Vidrine and wife Tina all of Grand Prairie; Burton Vidrine and wife Rooney of Plaisance, Charlie Vidrine and Wife Diane of New Orleans, Warren Vidrine and wife Anna of Belair Cove, Durward Vidrine of Baton Rouge and Donnie Vidrine of Washington; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Vidrine was preceded in death by her husband Lester Vidrine; one son Francis Ray PeeWee Vidrine; three grandchildren, Darlene, Brandon, and Julie Vidrine; parents, Ferdinand and Rose Dupre Fontenot and her step-mother, Otile Bolfa.

Visiting will be held at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00a.m. on Saturday until service time. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas has been entrusted with arrangements.
