Earline Darbonne

A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Earline "Deuce" Darbonne at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. The Reverend Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, LA.

Earline Godeaux Darbonne, age 96, died at her residence on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Earline found great joy and comfort in spending time with her family. Cooking Sunday family dinners brought Earline a special kind of joy and togetherness. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great- grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Darbonne; her parents and her brother, Nat Godeaux.

Survivors are her daughter, Jeanette Lavergne, and husband Wilbert; her sister, Mary LeBleu; grandchildren, Wilbert Lavergne, Jr. and Wayne Lavergne and wife Theresia; great-grandchildren, Ty Lavergne and Jamie Lavergne.

The family will welcome friends for visiting at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 6:00 p.m. Visiting will resume on Friday at 9:00 a.m. until service. time at 1:00 p.m.
