Opelousas - Funeral services for Mr. Earl Joseph Stelly, age 64, will be held Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, La. followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La.

Earl Stelly, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on June 10, 2008 at his residence. He died from Lou Gehrigs disease.

Mr. Stelly retired from the Opelousas Coca Cola Company and the St. Landry Parish School Board.

Mr. Stelly is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Comeaux Stelly, of Opelousas, La.; his daughters, Glenda Andrus and her husband, David, of Opelousas, La.; Trudy Guillory and her husband, Blaine, of Baton Rouge, La.; Denise Stanford and her husband, Mark, of Baton Rouge, La.; Darlene Kidder and her husband, L.J., of Opelousas, La.; his brothers, Rodney Stelly of Breaux Bridge, La.; Eli Stelly, Jr. of Port Arthur, TX and Howard Stelly of Gonzales, La. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stelly was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Alice Stelly; a brother, Alfred Stelly and a sister, Alfrida Zerangue.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, June 12, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
