Funeral services will be held for Douglas Ray on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Ray, age 69, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
Douglas was a very talented musician. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. His talent and kind spirit, along with his love for music will always be remembered.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ray; his sons, John Douglas Ray and wife, Bridget; Dubby Johnson and wife, Shanna; Doug Johnson and wife, Courtney; his daughters, Christie Ducote and companion, Michael Casse; Missy Franklin and husband, Tory and his brothers, Johnny Ray, Jr. and wife, Barbara; Charles Freddie Ray and wife, Elaine and Daniel Ray and wife, Rose. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Hayden, Maycee, Morgan, Hunter, Cameron, Connor, Sydni, Sadi, Tiffany, Michael, Payton, Madison, Logan and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Ray, Sr. and Lurie Mae Ray; his sisters, Martha Ray, Betty Legros, Margaret Slocum and his grandchildren, Hannah and Heather Ray.
Visiting hours will be observed at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Hayden Ducote, Hunter Ray, Doug Johnson, Dubby Johnson, Michael Casse and Zack Stelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Ray and Ray Ellis.
