Dotsy Ann Savoy

Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Dotsy Dupre Savoy at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021, at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Father Neil Pettit will celebrate the Mass.

Ms. Savoy was a native and longtime resident of Plaisance, LA.  She died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, Opelousas General Health System, at the age of 77.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Being a homemaker, she enjoyed doing crochet, making crafts, spending time outside gardening, and baking.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Mickey Savoie and his wife, Annette of Opelousas; two grandchildren, Adam Savoie and wife, Amber; and Malorie Savoie Jester; and four great-grandchildren, Mason Savoie, Grace Savoie, Zander Jester, and Rowen Jester. She is also survived by two brothers, Lionel Dupre and wife, Shirley, and J.W. Dupre and wife, Cathy, all of Plaisance; five sisters, Vera Thibodeaux and husband, Harran, of Opelousas; Rosalie Lanclos, and companion Branch Wall, Joycelyn Fontenot and husband, Kenneth, all of Carencro; Diane Arnaud and husband, Leon, of Opelousas, and Vickie Duplechain and husband, Eddie, of Melville; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earlie Ray Savoy; her parents, Willie M. Dupre and the former Bernadette Bordelon; sister, Judy Dupre; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rufus Savoy and Marie Castille Savoy; and brother-in-law, Tony Lanclos.

Visiting hours will be observed on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel of Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  A Rosary service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.  On Friday, visitation will continue  in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Adam Savoie, Michael Dupre, Donald Thibodeaux, Todd Thibodeaux, Seth Thibodeaux, and Kim Thibodeaux.
