Dorothy Wedlock

Prairie Ronde A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Joubert Wedlock, age 89, will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Prairie Ronde, La., followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Austin Leger will be the celebrant of the mass.

Dorothy, a native of Prairie Ronde, La., passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.

Dorothy was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Daughters in Lawtell, La. and the Ladies Alter Society. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and greatgreat grandmother.

She is survived by her two sons, Herbert James Wedlock and wife, Judy, of Prairie Ronde, La. Woodrow John Woody Wedlock and wife, Leah of Oscar, La. her daughter, Marie Lynn Pitre and husband, Joseph Honore of Prairie Ronde, La. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren and 16 greatgreat grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wellam Wedlock her parents, Charlie and Felicia Pitre Joubert and six siblings.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2011 until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
